my wheels cover alot more as well instead of the mesh. if i wasnt in the next lane over or on a bike, i probably wouldnt have noticed they were covers instead of calipers. but they looked quality, very sporty, and overall a great fit on a black corvette. They looked a little cheesy because they are just solid and have no texture or shape to mimic a real brake caliper. Guess what it also had? these exact caliper covers in red!!!

this beast had massive dual tip exhaust, lowered to the ground, clean mesh style 20s, had to be supercharged or procharged by the sound it produced, even drilled rotors, and a full front carbon race-lip. Pulled up to a stoplight next to a very clean 2009 C5 LS1 Corvette. Now this may have been coincidence, but i was riding my good'ol Suzuki DR650 Dual sport last night. I could plasti dip my brake calipers?īut my BMW service rep, and even the "Nice Guy" in the shop, said i really should not paint the calipers, because in the case of premature wear, squeal, failure, Bmw Will have a reason to deny me repair?ĭoes anyone have any experience with this?Īnd in all honesty, the stock calipers are minutely measly, and the covers happen to look much larger and sportier. If anyone has further info in regards to the electrostatic please do tell!!!ĭoes anyone who paints calipers use electrostatic? is Electrostatic high temp?Īnd i could of sworn there was no way plasti-dip would work on such high heat applications. I ask for a price for painting them in electrostatic field, because in my opinion it s the best solution if you don t want to buy the M performance brake kit or other brake kit. you can put the covers, but not all aftermarket will work. you can use plasti dip,and repair them when they rip. you can paint them, but in electrostatic because otherways the paint will rip. They told me that there are some solutions: So today i was at my local service to ask the same problem. So what does everyone think? and anyone have experience? Ive heard bmw does not like painted brake calipers when it comes to break issues, squells, premature break wear.all things that could happen.

i think they are CNC'ed and really bright and shiny, and install very easily. and it brings the look im looking for.blacked out X5 with red calipers. because the performance for cash value is important to me because the stock breaks suck. So because im not going to spend that money on brembos, and i dont see the value of cash for BMW big brake kit in blue, if at all that big of an increase in performance.

Avoid contact of grease and other lubricants with the braking surfaces of the brake disc, drum, pads and shoes as this could affect the efficiency of the braking system and cause serious physical damage.Ok so brembo upgrade for red calipers and drilled rotors is an easy $8000 to have installed.i just dont see my self putting up $8000 for brakes unless they are carbon-ceramic.and on a sports car.If they do not, non-operation of the warning lights can cause a reduction in efficiency of the braking system, or brake signalling failure. Ensure correct connection of any electrical contacts, checking that the warning lights come on.Protect the disassembled electrical components from humidity.Do not subject the electrical components to electrostatic charges or to impact which could damage the plastic parts. In the event of accidental contact, clean thoroughly in accordance with the vehicle or brake fluid manufacturer’s instructions.
